JUMC Lay Shepherding Ministry

Started in 2008, Lay Shepherding is based on the biblical example of the shepherd caring for the flock. 

Each of our lay Shepherds has a flock of 5 or 6 households from our congregation. The Lay Shepherds pray for their sheep every day and contact their sheep at least once each month with a phone call, card, e-mail, or a personal visit.

Presently we have 48 families being cared for by 8 shepherds, and we will be equipping new shepherds and expanding our program this fall.
