Lenten Prayer Guide / Journal
Many Christians use the Lenten season as a time to
give something up, or to deny themselves of some pleasure, such as watching
excessive TV, as a means of self discipline.
The
Prayer Team is suggesting that during Lent this year, instead of giving something
up, (or in addition to this self denial), you add
something; a vow to make your prayer life more intentional and perhaps slightly
more structured.
To
assist our church family in making prayer more intentional, a Prayer
Guide/Journal has been developed which you can use to focus your prayers and
keep track of those people and things for which you have prayed. For each day
from Ash Wednesday through Easter Sunday there is a separate page identifying a
prayer focus and then room for you to record daily prayer concerns,
celebrations, and your thoughts as you pray.
If one
has not been given to you in Church, Sunday School,
etc., please pick one up at the church office or call the church. Through genuine prayer, both in talking with
God and listening to His response, each of us can grow into the type of
Christian God would have us be.
